Lucha Libre is Mexico’s own form of professional wrestling, a genre of the sport characterised by colourful masks, rapid sequences of holds, and a high-flying manoeuvres. Steeped in cultural significance, the mask of a Luchador is colourfully designed to evoke images of animals, gods and ancient heroes whose identity the luchador takes on during a contest.
